Vivian Brookhouzen Funeral services for 10-year-old Vivian Brookhouzen, Meadow lane, Des Plaines, will be held at 10 a.m. in St. Raymond church. Mt. Prospect, Friday with Fr. O'Brien officiating. Vivian was born November 14, 1944 and died September 27 at Elmhurst hospital after a long illness. She leaves her parents, Vera and Edgar L. Brookhouzen; 3 brothers, Paul, Thomas and Peter and a sister, Marian. Interment, All Saints cemetery. Vivian is in state at Oehler funeral home in Des Plaines until time of services.

Girl, 10, Loses Her Fight Against Leukemia – When 10-year old Vivian Brookhouzen became ill with leukemia a year ago her friends and neighbors in Feehanville community responded with prayer and donations of blood. Despite their efforts, Vivian passed away early Tuesday morning in Elmhurst hospital. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar L. Brookhouzen, Arlington Hts. They have 4 other children. They story of Vivian's struggle against the dread disease prompted 10 employees of Paddock Publications to also contribute blood to the child. Among those donors was her uncle. Residents of the Feehanville area responded in large numbers to requests for blood donors. Funeral services will be Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Raymond church, Mt. Prospect. Interment at All Saints cemetery.
