Sandra Lee Jensen was born in Waukegan, Illinois on March 13, 1940. She quietly entered Heaven's gates on December 13, 2018.

A loving mother and homemaker, Sandy was the most particular woman most of us ever met. "Her way or the highway," is something that characterized her as such an incredibly strong and resilient woman, one that will be looked up to for generations past her time.

She was known to freely express what was on her mind, appropriate or not, and was also known to have a short fuse. Yet she taught us everything there is to know about expressing tears, those of love and of joy. Her incredible laugh was contagious and often accompanied by those same tears.

An excessive worrier, but also a woman of faith - I suppose that's genetic. Sandy trusted in God's will and lived by the belief that she would be taken home one day.

Sandy enjoyed preparing special dishes for her family, most especially over the holidays. I can't say she would have been awarded a top chef medal, but I can say she could make a mean lasagna and some incredible holiday sweets. Sandy lived for the holidays and seasons of decorating. She'd fill the air with festive spirit, full of little lights and countless trinkets and knick knacks that each came with their own magical story.

Speaking of, she left behind a ton of stuff for her family members, who have no idea what to do with it. So if you're in need of a box TV from the 90's, a phone that has a cord attached to it, 313 coffee mugs, or a lifetime supply of white livesavers, lemon coughdrops and strawberry nutrigrain bars, your gift is impatiently waiting.

She exercised her creative side in numerous crafts, from cross stitch, to crocheting and knitting (mostly adorable slippers and washcloths that will be cherished for long past their lifetime).

Sandy had a thing for Chicago sports and truly loved to watch baseball. That she shared with her husband and the tradition is continued by her two sons and grandchildren.

Sandy was predeceased by her loving husband of 43 years, Raymond Charles Jensen. She is also predeceased by her sister, Betty Krumrey and grandson, Ryan Jensen. Sandy is survived by her son, Steven Jensen, and his wife, Rosie, son, Ronald Jensen, and his wife, Sherrie. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Jennifer Jensen and her husband Daniel, Veronica Jensen, and Maggie Jensen. She had 1 great grandchild, Noah Ryan Bogue. Sandy is survived by her two nieces, Bonnie Patton and Kim Bond, and two nephews, Bruce Kennedy and Kevin Krumrey.

Sandy greatly enjoyed her family time - with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchild. She loved passing on stories and now those stories we hold onto forever.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-8 PM at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 N Cemetery Rd, Gurnee. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Wednesday at 11 AM at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Warren Cemetery, Gurnee.

In lieu of flowers, we kindly ask that you make donations to the charity of your choice.
