Carmen Ann Myers, 82, of La Crosse, died peacefully Saturday, December 8, 2018, at Bethany St. Joseph Care Center surrounded by much love and many prayers. She was born in South Dakota in 1936, the youngest of six children, to Justin and Tilda Nessan.

She married Mike Myers, her high school sweetheart, in the summer of 1960. Carmen and Mike had three children; Steve, Susan, and Shelley.

In 1976, they moved to their dream home on the back waters of the Black River. Carmen went out of her way to be a good neighbor. Her gift of gab made her an easy friend to many. Her memory for people’s names, their stories and the little details of their lives amazed us all. She was quick to send birthday cards and notes of encouragement to all she knew. Carmen was the life of the party whose favorite exclamation was “Let’s boogie!” (before her hip replacements). She did not hesitate to stay up late shaking dice, playing cards, and laughing with her friends and family. Her delightful sense of humor was with her until the end.

Carmen was a devoted wife and mother; she loved her family dearly. She enjoyed having family and friends around the table and was known for her delicious meals, always served with her signature humor.

She is survived by her husband, Mike; son, Steve (Julie) Myers; daughters: Susan Brown and Shelley Noelke; grandchildren: Jason Myers, Dan (Jen) Myers, Laura Myers, Sophie Brown and Hannah Noelke; and one great-granddaughter; sister-in-law, Marie Nessan; brother-in-law, Roy Boeser; and many nieces and nephews.

Carmen was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather, three brothers, two sisters, her mother- and father-in-law, a sister-in-law, two brothers-in-law and two nephews.

Inurnment will be held at La Crosse Catholic Cemetery.
