Mrs. Makemson was born in Newell Township, near State Line, on January 10, 1830, and was a daughter of Samuel Adams and wife, pioneer settlers of Vermilion County. She had always lived in that locality and had a wide circle of acquaintances there. She was married to John Makemson on December 24, 1847, and was the mother of seven children, three of whom are still living – Mrs. Lester Learnard, Mrs. John Clapp and Perry Makemson, all residents of this county.
Funeral services will be held from the Methodist Episcopal church in State Line this morning at 10 o’clock, followed by burial in Walnut Corner Cemetery.” – August 15, 1907
