CLARKTON—Katie Lee Jenkins Johnson, 86, of 2230 Farmers Union Road, Clarkton, died Friday, December 7, at Columbus Regional Healthcare System.
The funeral will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, December 12, at Christian Plain AME Zion Church, 1960 Jenkins Road, Whiteville, by Dr. Vincent Meares, eulogist. Burial will be in the Welches Creek Cemetery.
Viewing will be at Peoples Funeral Home of Whiteville Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM and at the church Wednesday one hour prior to the service. There will be no viewing after the service. Eastern Star rites will be Tuesday at 6:00 PM at the funeral home chapel.
Surviving are her husband, Joe Johnson; daughters, Loretta Johnson, Irene Jones, and Michelle Johnson of Clarkton, Sharon Johnson of Charlotte, and Renee Johnson of Miami, FL; sons, Joe Riley Johnson, Christopher Johnson, and Alfonzie Johnson of Charlotte, Tony Johnson of Mint Hill, Jerome Johnson of Jacksonville, FL, and Eric Johnson of Killeen, TX; sister, Barbara Baldwin of Clarkton; brother, Frank Johnson of Memphis, TN.
