Gordon W. Graves, 73, of New Carlisle, passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2018. He was born August 6, 1945 in Ilion, New York, the son of the late William and Grace Graves. Gordon retired from the Dayton Daily News after 38 years as a pressman. He was a member of the North Hampton Lions Club, volunteered with the Red Cross and Meals on Wheels. Gordon was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is preceded in death by his sisters Elaine LeFever and Alma Hysack; and grandson Thomas Duda. Gordon is survived by his wife of 19 years, Margaret; children Michael (Kim) Graves, Timothy (Kristina) Graves, Jennifer Graves, William (Emily Brewer) Graves, Andrew (Kelley Ballweg) Graves, Angela Hughes, Benjamin (Jessica) Graves, Catherine (Jerry) Dean and Ann (Tom Palte) Watts; 28 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters Doreen Clute and Arlene Kellogg; numerous extended family. Memorial contributions may be made to the North Hampton Lions Club. Visitation will be Friday, December 14, 2018, from 5-8 PM in Trostel, Chapman, Dunbar & Fraley Funeral Home. A service to honor Gordon will be Saturday at 10:00 AM in the funeral home with Pastor Barry Baughman officiating. Burial will follow in New Carlisle Cemetery. W
