Lannuier, who was born in France, made furniture in New York City up to his death in 1819. James Bosley purchased a significant amount of Lannuier furniture which generations later made their way to the NY MET and the Maryland Historical Societies collections.
James A Bosley and his wife had no children. Upon his death, he left his estate to his wife Elizabeth. Upon her death in 1851 she left her estate to her sister, Margaret Esther Noel (1799-1897) and eventually to her only child, James Bosley Noel Wyatt (1847-1926) a famous Baltimore Architect (Wyatt and Nolting). James Bosley Noel Wyatt left most of the Lannuier furniture purchased by James and Elizabeth Bosley, to the Maryland Historical Society by gift in 1920. Three Lannuier side chairs were retained by James Bosley Noel Wyatt and upon his death in 1926; one was given to his business partner William G Nolting ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wyatt_%26_Nolting ) and two were given to his cousin, Charles Handfield Wyatt, Jr.
