Martha Hunter, 88, of East Peoria, passed away at 10:44 am Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
She was born July 12, 1930 in Golden Pond, KY to James W. and Mary Mauline Leneave Calhoun. She married William E. Hunter in Hopkinsville, KY on January 26, 1946. He preceded her in death on July 30, 1983. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Lonnie; and brother, Jasper.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie (Carl) Fifield; three granddaughters, Shawna, Lori, Jennifer; four great-grandchildren, William, Morgan, Ashlea, Sidney; sister, Judy Joiner; and several nieces and nephews.
Martha was a homemaker and in her later years worked as a greeter at Wal-Mart and enjoyed that very much. She also enjoyed her flowers and gardening.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 am Friday, December 14th at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. A graveside service will follow at 11:30 at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
