Joyce, 93, of Chelsea, MI, passed away Monday, December 10, 2018 at the Chelsea Retirement Community. She was born on June 10, 1925 in Sharon Township, the daughter of Herman and Ethel (Whipple) Hashley. On May 20, 1944 she married the love of her life, Lloyd A. Boyce. She is with him now in heaven.
Surviving are her children, Lynn A. (Laura) Boyce of Orange, California, Sharleen E. (Richard) Dettling and Roger D. (Jane) of Dexter; her grandchildren Julie (Tony) Trinkle, Andrew (Karra) Dettling, and Benjamin (Jennifer) Boyce of Dexter, Rebekah (Robert) Vandemark of Byron, Aaron (Holli) of California and Jacob (Sarah) of Gibsonia, PA, and 15 great-grandchildren, Alissa, Ryan, Sophia, Anabell, Victor, Brooke, Brielle, Noah, Cameron, Colby, Elin, Adelle, David, Reagan and Claire; her sister-in-law Mary Lou Boyce of Stockbridge as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was welcomed to heaven by many who preceded her in death, her parents, sister and spouse Janice (Donald) McLean, sister-in-law and spouse Elaine (Herman) Martin, sister-in-law and spouse Shirley (Arlo) Wasson, brother-in-law and spouse A.J. (Hertha) Boyce, brother-in-law and spouse Wynn (Mary Louise) Boyce, sister-in-law and spouse Dee (Albert) Gall, brother-in-law Max Boyce, grandson Justin Boyce, as well as many, many dear friends.
A Funeral Service will take place on Friday, December 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Dexter United Methodist Church with Pastor Steve Bringardner and Dr. Matt Hook officiating followed by a burial at Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be at Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home in Chelsea on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Expressions of sympathy can be made to Chelsea Retirement Community Heritage Foundation or Dexter United Methodist Church Pastor's Benevolent Fund.
