Esther was born December 13,1925 in Willmar, MN, the daughter of Jacob and Thea (Borsheim) Olson. She grew up in Willmar and attended Willmar High School.
On December 23, 1944, she was united in marriage to Charles Woltjer at the United Methodist Church parsonage in Raymond. They lived in Willmar where Esther stayed home to raise her children and later in life she worked as a florist, cashier and in a bakery.
She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church where she was confirmed, taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, was a Deaconess and volunteered in the kitchen. She also belonged to a quilting group.
Her baked goods were enjoyed by many which not only included her family but neighbors and friends. Her pies and doughnuts, will be especially missed by those who had the privilege of tasting them.
Surviving are her daughters, Bev (and Howard) Jones of Hawick and Judy (and Richard) Ornberg of St. Louis, MO; five grandchildren: DuWayne (and Lisbeth) Jones, Paul (and Jennifer) Jones, Peter Ornberg, Thea Ornberg, Erik Ornberg; great grandchildren: Sydney, Wallace, Anna, Elsa, Trevor, and Adam; brother-in-law, Chester Woltjer, sister-in-law, Violet Woltjer, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Charles, on June 8, 2000, six sisters and two brothers.
