Darla “Janie” (Carman) Weaver, age 70, of Mattoon passed away at 8:03 a.m. on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Carle Foundation Hospital.
Funeral Services honoring her life will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, December 14, 2018 at Schilling Funeral Home with Pastor Brad Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Garden. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Friday.
Janie was born on November 11, 1948 in Mattoon, IL the daughter of Elmer Leroy and Madonna Jane (King) Carman. She married Jeffery Weaver on November 11, 2011.
Survivors include her husband, Jeffery Weaver of Mattoon, IL; sons, Michael (Angela) French and Clayton (Michelle) French; step-sons, Dylan (Michelle) Weaver and Jared Weaver (Amanda Jenkins); grandchildren, Hailey, Camren, Laney, Carson, Bradley, Wesley, Natalie, Melanie and Emily; step-grandchildren, Nolan, Madeline, Avery and Ian; siblings, Daryl (Jette) Carman, Susan (Brad) Alexander, Lonnie (Daris) Carman, Larry Carman, Teresa Peterson (Craig Laker), Howard (Diane) Carman and Brad (Julene) Carman. Janie was preceded in death by her parents.
Janie retired from General Electric after thirty-seven years of dedicated service. She was a member of the Mattoon Moose Lodge and VFW. Janie was giving, compassionate and kindhearted. She had a contagious smile and never met a stranger. Most of all, Janie loved spending time with her family and treasured her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
