Geraldine Christine Phillips, 97, of Decatur, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at Eastern Star Nursing Home, in Macon.
Geraldine was born October 9, 1921, in Decatur, IL to Elmer Lester and Christine Anna (Platzbecker) Wheal. She married Harold Milton Phillips, Jr. on June 22, 1940. He passed away September 9, 1999. She was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church. She enjoyed playing Bridge and Bunco with her friends and loved water color painting.
She is survived by her four children, Jerry Lee Phillips of Pana, IL, Mary Dianne Black of Mt. Zion, IL, Stephen (Diane) Phillips of Rixeyville, VA and Tim (Kathy) Phillips of Decatur, IL; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Donald E. (Lorraine) Wheal of Lincoln, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Harold.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Geraldine Phillips will be 11 a.m. Monday, December 17, 2018, at St. John’s Episcopal Church 130 W Eldorado St, Decatur, IL 62522. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday before the service at the church. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to St. John’s Episcopal Church.
