Funeral Service for Sarah Ezell Ramsey Head, 92, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, December 13, 2018, at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Eros, LA, with Rev. Neil Wigley and Dr. J. Michael Barnett officiating. Interment will follow in Antioch Cemetery in West Monroe, LA, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.
On December 10, 2018, Sarah left this troubled world and went into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, whom she served faithfully and joyfully. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Eros, LA, where she was active in the Adult Choir, a Women’s Sunday School teacher and had been active in many church activities.
Sarah loved the Lord, her family, her church family and friends; her sons, James and Neil were her greatest joy. She loved to tell how God brought her together with her wonderful husband, Carl Head, who was the love of her life. Sarah loved gardening, especially crafting a “poodle” Juniper from an ordinary bush; she loved telling how it became special.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Head; parents, William “Bill” F. Ramsey and Nancyann Elizabeth “Nannie” Slaton Ramsey; brothers, Marvin “Buddy” and O. Z. Ramsey; sisters, Emma Lea Naron, Doris Walters and Yvonne Hemphill.
Survivors include her sons, James Briant and Neil Briant and wife Janet; brother, Billy Ramsey; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Her very special extended “family” includes Dr. Michael and Traci Barnett and their children, Natalie and Wesley, who she loved as if they were her own grandchildren. Also in her special family are “granddaughter”, Amy Baughman Nation and her husband Brent and sons, Ryland, Carson and Cayden.
Pallbearers will be the Deacons and Men of Oak Grove Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. until service time on Thursday at the church.
