Janice Jean Bergman, 81, of Sparta, WI, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 8, 2018, in her home. Janice was born August 25, 1937, in Sparta, WI, to John and Erma LaRock.
Janice was born and raised in Sparta, WI. She married Arthur “Ted” Bergman and they travelled with the Army for several years and finally made their home back in Sparta. Ted was decorated, full time military for over 20 years. Janice worked at Spies Super Value in Sparta for 20 plus years.
In Janice’s spare time she loved to be with friends bowling. She has many trophies to show for this passion. When Janice got older and her arthritis became an issue her son helped get her set up with the top of the line video gaming system. She became well versed in playing many games. Janice loved the times she could play against her grandkids that live in Texas.
Janice is survived by her son, John (Anjana) Bergman, and children Becky and Michael all of Carrollton, TX; a brother-in-law, Roger Ziegler of Sparta; sister-in-law, Karen LaRock of Sparta; nieces, and nephews, Jennifer and Jessica Ziegler, Tim Skidmore, Roy, Steve, and Renae LaRock; her cat and dear companion- George; along with many dear friends.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, Owen Sharp; a brother Jack LaRock; two sisters, Cindy Ziegler and Nancy Skidmore; and a nephew, Billie Skidmore.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, December 14, 2018, 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sparta, WI. Pastor Mark Kvale will officiate. Burial will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Sparta.
