Kelly Peterson, age 57, Erwin, Spivey Community, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 9, 2018. He was a lifelong resident of Unicoi County and son of R. L. and Glasie Hensley Peterson.

Kelly was employed by NFS where he worked in Calibration with thirty-five years of service. He was a member of Mountain Dale Free Will Baptist Church and attended Bailey Independent Church. Kelly loved the Lord and serving his Lord.

He loved and enjoyed fishing. Kelly could fix anything and enjoyed the challenge of completing the project.

He was a loyal, loving and devoted husband, dad, grandfather, son and friend. Kelly will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his loving parents, R. L. and Glasie Peterson, he leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of sixteen years, Treva Peterson; two daughters: Chasity Canipe, Unicoi, Sheena Biddix (Tyler), Spruce Pine, NC; five grandchildren which Kelly loved and adored spending time with: Eli, Seth, Owen, Bradyon and Raina; several aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends; and his special boxer dogs, Dixie and Bailey.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Reed Bagby and Reverend Craig Shelton will officiate at the 7:00 P.M. funeral service. Music will be provided by David Higgins, Damaris Higgins, Kevin Laws, Darren Higgins and Bobby Ramsey. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Committal service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, December 14, 2018 in the Joe Hensley Family Cemetery, Spivey Community. Reverend Tommy Hensley will officiate. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home by 12:30 P.M. Friday to go in procession to the cemetery.
