Mr. Raymond R Sawyer, 81, saw the face of Jesus on December 11, 2018. Mr. Sawyer passed away at SWRMC in McComb.

He was born on July 20, 1937 in Long Island, N Y to the late Raymond R Sawyer and Unganach. He moved to McComb in 1978.

He was a field engineer for IBM and a U S Air Force veteran. He was a member of the Southwest Gun Club, lifetime member of the NRA, Cradle Episcopalian and active member of The Episcopal Church of the Mediator/Redeemer in McComb. He served his church on the Vestry and served as Junior and Senior Warden. He also enjoyed bowling in McComb Bowling Leauge.

He was most happy taking care of and spending time with his family. His wife of almost 60 years and his 2 sons and grandson, along with his extended church family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Carole Birkland. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, JoAnn Sawyer of McComb, sons, Douglas Sawyer of Ft. Walton Beach, FL and Steven Sawyer of Fernwood. His grandson, Dustin Sawyer of Panama City Fl, Special Sister in Law, Cathy Adams of Hot Springs Village, AR and Special Niece Jodi Haltom of Benton AR.

Memorial services will be held on December 22 at The Church of the Mediator, 215 N. Broadway at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be from 10 AM till 11 AM at the Asbury Barkley House.

Memorials in honor of Mr. Sawyer can be made to an animal shelter of your choice or to American Cancer Society.
