In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Dixon Jr.; son, Charles Dixon III; daughter, Carolyn June Williams; grandson, Stephen Dwight Williams; siblings: Esther (Raymond) Emmett, Mary (Leo) Cheatwood, Marge (Eugene) Walton, Jane (Clayton) Smith, Bill (Carolyn) Coyle and Martha (Henry) Bussman; and son-in-law, Wendell Wilkie Williams.
Wilma graduated from Wellston High School, three weeks after graduating she went to Washington, D.C. working as a junior clerk-typist, Troops Division Operation Branch Corp of Engineers New War Dept. She returned to Jackson afterward and worked for the City of Jackson Utility Dept. for 11 years then worked for the Jackson County Courthouse Title Dept. for 9 years.
Wilma loved Jesus and was active in church. She enjoyed being with her family, especially during the holidays. She also enjoyed shopping and being social. She loved spending time with her great-grandchild, Noah, who she spent time with daily. Wilma loved all her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her great-great grandchild.
Wilma is survived by her children: Sharon (Jim) Simovant, Tina (John) Baughman, Bill Dixon and Dixie (Jim) Freeman; a sister, Irene (Scott) Thompson; her grandchildren: Randy, Dustin, Wendi, Chase, Corey, Courtney, Jeff, Pat, Jeff, Cody, Zach, Colton, Hannah and Haley; great-grandchildren: Hunter, Hallie, Halana, Hayden, Noah, Reagan, Katlyn, Tyler, Jaylen, Kelsey, Jimmy and Kaleigh; and one great-great grandchild, Willow June Rose.
Wilma will be remembered by the way she loved her family and how she cherished the time she spent with each and every one of them.
A funeral service will be held at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at 11AM with Rev. Wendell Vermillion officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 12th from 4-8PM at the funeral home.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home in Jackson.
