Susie Wood Wilson, age 83, passed away Saturday, October 6, 2018. A funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at the Historic Oakwood Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel, 701 Oakwood Avenue, Raleigh.
Susie was preceded in death by her parents, James Lovell and Margie Scarboro Wood; brothers, Edward, George, Walter Lee, Tom, and Robert Wood; and sisters, Helen Wood, and Grace Wood Cross.
She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be missed greatly by all who knew her.
Susie is survived by her husband of 18 years, John Lee Wilson; son, Wayne Beasley; step-son, John Phillip Wilson and wife, JoAnn; step-daughters, Ruby Jones Wilson, and Peggy Hilliard; sister, Frances Stephenson; brother Buck Wood and wife, Marie; step-grandchildren, TJ Hilliard, Shannon H. Berndt, Ryan Jones, Candace Gray Wilson, Lauren Elizabeth Wilson, and Sarah Elizabeth Wilson; and step-great-grandchildren, Evan Berndt, Aiden Berndt, and William Hilliard. Eight nieces and nephews.
