Irma S. Menchaca, 75, of Caldwell entered into her eternal rest on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at her home with her family by her side.
Mass of the Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 am Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Caldwell with Rev. Bernard Hung as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 5 pm Tuesday, December 11, 2018 with a rosary recited at 7 pm at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Caldwell.
Mrs. Menchaca was born in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico August 14, 1943 to Renato and Vicenta Herrera Santos. She was a switchboard operator from TAMU and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, baking and watching "soap operas" and game shows on TV especially "The Price Is Right".
She is preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Oscar Menchaca; a sister; her in-laws; and a sister-in-law.
Survivors include her husband of more than 55 years, Tomas M. Menchaca III of Caldwell; a son, Tomas Menchaca IV and wife, Maria of Caldwell; three daughters and a son-in-law, Mickey and Luis Martinez of Caldwell, Diana Menchaca and Kathleen Menchaca both of Bryan; and seven grandchildren, Luis Martinez, Gabriella Martinez, Leland Paniagua, Lindros Paniagua, Samantha Menchaca, Omar Menchaca and Mia Menchaca.
Pallbearers will be Luis Martinez, Jr., Omar Menchaca, Lindros Paniagua, Jose de la Garza, Miguel Claudio, Jr. and Danny Santos. Honorary pallbearer is Leland Paniagua.
