Clarence E. Griffin Jr., 83, of Morganton transitioned from this life to the next on Wednesday, December 5, 2018. Born in Burke County, NC on April 23, 1935, he was the son of the late Clarence E. Griffin Sr. and Mary Hardy Griffin. Clarence was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and worked at Grace Hospital for over 44 years. He was a member of Morganton Seventh Day Adventist Church and served as an Elder.

Mr. Griffin is survived by his wife of 62 years, Kay Frances Carter Griffin; sister, Doris McKesson of Morganton; and numerous nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law.

In addition to his parents, Clarence was preceded in death by two sisters, Clara Mae Griffin and Betty Sue Browder.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Morganton Seventh Day Adventist Church. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. in the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors provided by the N.C. National Guard.
