Bob was born on June 27, 1940 in Amarillo, Texas. He was the son of the late Lynn Pool and Alfreda “Fritzi” Shaw. Bob graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Tyler, Tx. and attended Texas Tech University where he played football for the Red Raiders as a freshman. He also attended and graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management. He served our country in the United States Army from 1962-1967. Bob worked for Kilgore Ceramics for 33 Years. He served as a Deacon at Highland Presbyterian in Tyler and was involved in the community as President of the Liberty City Lions Club. He loved to play golf in which he was a member at Shallow Creek Country Club in Liberty City, working outdoors, gardening, Flying, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Bob was married to the love of his life, Darlene “Amy” Pool, for 48 years until her death in November of 2012.
Bob is survived by his daughters, Cathy Eades and husband Matthew of Gilmer, Cindy Webb and husband Mark of San Antonio and Carie Roy and husband Mark of Sanger; five very special grandchildren, Taylor Eades, Chase Webb, Emily Webb, Ashton Roy, and London Roy; other family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Darlene “Amy” Mayfield Pool.
