Veteran of the Riel rebellion of 1885 and of the Great War, Charles R. McGregor, 83, Sexsmith old-timer.
Born in Pembroke, Ont., he came west to Fort Garry (now Winnipeg) in 1878 and after the rebellion settled in Morden, Man. In 1912 he came to the Peace river country and homesteaded of here.
He joined the 185th battalion, Edmonton, in 1915 and served overseas, returning here at the end of the war. Funeral service was held in the United church and in the soldiers' plot of Emerson cemetery. Last rites were conducted b by the Masons and the Canadian Legion. Pallbearers were: H. E.Housman, N. J. Esch, J. Winesforter, George Bauger, R. G.
