Clara Inez Gregersen of LeRoy, Kansas, passed away Saturday morning, December 8, 2018, at the home of her son in Wichita, Kansas.

Graveside services will be held 1:30 P.M. Wednesday, December 12, 2018, at Logue Cemetery east of LeRoy.

The family will meet with friends from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Jones Funeral Home in Burlington.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Harry Hynes Hospice and may be sent in care of Jones Funeral Home, PO Box 277, Burlington, KS 66839.

Clara Inez Gregersen of LeRoy, Kansas, passed away Saturday morning, December 8, 2018, at the home of her son in Wichita, Kansas.

Clara was born near St. Paul in Neosho County, Kansas, the daughter of Thomas Woodrow and Zella May (Klinefelter) Holding.

On February 16, 1974, she and Glen E. Gregersen were married in LeRoy. They made their home on their farm east of LeRoy for 32 years. Clara had worked as a nurse’s aide, in cafés, and as a janitor for Wolf Creek Generating Station, Iola schools, and for individuals. She was a member of the Northcott Community Church.

Her husband, Glen, preceded her in death on August 31, 2003. In 2006 Clara moved to Emporia where her daughter, Julie, cared for her as long as she was able. Six months ago she moved to Wichita to make her home with her son, Rodney and his wife Lisa.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Kerry Lowry; a sister, Eva; and a brother, Larry Holding.

She leaves her children, Julie Davis, Emporia, KS, Jerry Ellis, Circleville, KS, Rodney Lowry (Lisa), Wichita, KS, and Darren Lowry (Trudy), Emporia, KS, and Rick Lowry (Sharrie), Humboldt, KS; 4 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild and 1 on the way; 20 step-grand and step-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
