ROCHESTER-Rodney Dean Howard, 79, passed away Friday, December 7, 2018 at St. Joseph Medical Center, Plymouth, IN.
Rodney was born November , 15, 1939 in Royalton, KY to Bruce and Alka Howard and lived in the area most of his life.
On January 21, 1963 in Kingsford Heights, IN, he was married to the former Ielene Shaffer, who survives. Also surviving are children, Louise Perez, Bobby Dale Harris, Donna Peverelle, Rodney Lee (Liz) Howard, Connie (Wayne) Holderman and adopted son, Doug Jenkinson; grandchildren, Kevin Peverelle, Ashley Peverelle, Justin Griffin, Tyler Holderman and Stephanie Peverelle; great-grand-son, Cayson Dean Peverelle; sister, Dora Howard; and brother-in-law, Jerry (Nancy) Singleton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughters, Hannah and Heidi Howard; grandson, Donnie Peverelle; siblings, Walletta Stanley, Gladys Bennett, Mary Setnor, Janice Singleton, Don Howard, George Howard and Charles Howard; and sons-in-law, Kirby Zellers and Don Peverelle.
Rodney was a construction worker and retired from the Local #81 of Valparaiso. He was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church of Walkerton since 1968.
A memorial service will be Friday, December 14, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. EST at the Antioch Baptist Church of Walkerton. Visitation will be Friday at the church from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. EST. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the church. Rannells Funeral Home, Koontz Lake Chapel is handling arrangements.
