Norman Gresham Jr. respected and loved man, married fifty years to wife Marlene Sandra Gresham and father of Norman C. Gresham III, Christopher A. Gresham and Bryan L. Gresham has passed on as of Friday December 16, 2016, and will be dearly missed.

Norman was born in Indiana in 1935 to his father Norman Sr and Mother Helen and he grew up the baby of three siblings, oldest sister Barbara and middle brother Bruce. He graduated from Kent College and Joined the Navy shortly after. He was stationed on a naval carrier during the Korean War and served his country leaving the Navy with an honorable discharge.

Out of the Navy he began working for DeVilbiss Company in Ohio. He met the woman that would steal his heart forever. In no time he knew she was the one and married Marlene Sandra in 1966 and the following year they started their family. This I would say both Norman and Sandra considered their greatest accomplishment.

They had three children in Ohio before moving to California in 1978. Norman was a great Husband, father, friend and role model to his friends and peers. He loved his wife and never blinked an eye when she was feeding all the kids in the neighborhood. He was selfless in his spirit and knew if he was able to help someone he would. He spent time with his wife family and friends and made sure to enjoy his life. As much as he worked to provide he made time to take his family camping, on road trips and doing things with his children like dirt bike riding (even though he never rode).

His love for Sandra was one that can only be experienced once in a lifetime and he was not letting her go and she was not about to let him! It seemed they were truly made for one and other.

None of this would have been possible without his determination and love for his family.

He spent his career with the same company traveling all over the world to places like China, Japan, Europe and Germany. He moved through the company beginning with selling paint sprayers and compressors to hardware stores and auto body shops, and eventually he found his place selling medical respiratory care equipment in the medical division. He retired from DeVilbiss as the Northern California Regional Sales Manager and had 31-years with the company. He made long lasting relationships from all nationalities during his time with DeVilbiss.

He is survived by his Wife Sandra, his son Christopher and fiancé Ami, his grandson Ryan, Granddaughter Jessica and her fiancé Michael and granddaughter Julianna.

My admiration for this man is endless. He was a provider, husband, father and a friend. I learned many things from my father from respecting others, loyalty to family, being responsible and honest. That hard work pays off and to be good to others to name a few. Everyone goes through adversity in life and through this we grow in one way or another, for good or bad. My father remained strong through life's trials, even after the loss of two of his children Bryan Gresham; age 21 and Norman Gresham III; age 44, he remained strong for his family. Our family has gone through many good and bad times and through all of them my parents have not faltered in their love and ability to keep pushing onward. As children my brothers and I did not go without and I am blessed to have my life and it wouldn't have been possible without Norman Gresham Jr.

He told me he lived a good life. He loved, had a family and enjoyed life. He did what he wanted to- smoked, drank, and ate good food.

Dad, You are a great man. You are loved, you will be missed, and you will live with us forever.

M. Sandra Gresham
