David W Peters, 83, of Tomah died Friday, December 7, 2018 at the Greenfield House. He was born April 10, 1935 to William and Hildegarde Peters. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and was stationed at Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio. He was united in marriage to Renea. He had a close friend Joyce Olson. She preceded him in death. Later he was united in marriage to Connie Witz. While in the service he attended Railroad School a learned Computer Software. He worked at Fort Snelling; before transferring to Fort McCoy. Dave had numerous jobs over years and many stories of all the jobs that he worked. He worked as a groundskeeper at the Hiawatha Golf Club and the Holiday Lodge Golf Course, worked on cranberry marshes, as a bartender at Deacons to name a few. He enjoyed pool league for many years, playing the accordion, and they organ, he played in different organ bars in Chicago.
He is survived by many friends
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2018, 10:30 A.M. at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home, 801 E. Monowau St. Pastor Robert Streeter will officiate. Military Honors will be by the Grassman-Sowle-Larsen-Senz American Legion Post #201. Burial will follow at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Preston, MN.
