Bonnie Covington Stott Jackson
MARSHALL Bonnie Covington Stott Jackson, 82, of Marshall passed away December 7, 2018 in Marshall, Texas. She was born August 24, 1936 in Blackwell, Texas to Dale Covington and Annie Marie Alewine Covington. She was educated in the Houston Public Schools from September of 42 until her graduation in May of 54. On December 9, 1954, she married Malcolm Owen Stott. They celebrated thirty-nine years of marriage before his death in 1993. On May 15, 1999 she married Gerald D. Jackson of Hewitt.
She was employed at Texas A&M University from 1956-1959. From 1981-1988, she was the Pre School/Children Coordinator at Central Baptist Church, and the Intercessory Prayer Ministry Coordinator from 1989-1995. She worked at Marshall ISD from 1994-1996, and the Gill WSC from 1996-1999. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church where she started the Prayer Ministry.
Funeral services for Mrs. Jackson will be at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Marshall, with Bro Carlton Burris and Bro. Shawn Smith officiating. Burial will be in Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston, Texas on Thursday, December 13, 2018.
She is survived by her husband of nineteen years, Gerald D. Jackson; children, Mike Stott and wife Carol, Brian Stott and wife Lisa, Owen Stott and wife Robin, Debbie Myers, and John Paul Jackson; sister, Joy Noser and husband Jim. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Cody Stott, Jennifer Flores, Sheldon Stott, Sean Stott, Ryan Stott, Sydney Stott, Tracey Myers, and Dustin Myers; great grandchildren, Madison Myers, Logan Myers, Izabela Flores, Adrian Flores, Ethan Stott, Elle Stott, Abigail Stott, Olivia Myers, and Aviana Flores; numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm Owen Stott; parents, Dale and Marie Covington; parents-in-law, J.W. & Roma Stott; grandson, Austin Myers.
