Shaun Paul Hamblen, 23, died on November 29, 2018. Shaun was born on St. Patrick's Day, March 17, 1995, to his parents, Paul W. Hamblen, Jr. (deceased) and Michelle Simpson (Tom). Shaun is survived by: his sister, Morgan Hamblen; fiance, Kasey Corum; paternal grandparents, Rev. Mr. Paul W. Hamblen, Sr. (deceased) and Mary Hamblen; maternal grandparents, Mary (Wilhelmina "Willi") and Peter Alfonso; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Shaun was a friend to all. He had a warm and gentle presence and a smile that made everyone feel special. He showed Jesus' selfless love in his actions to family, friends and strangers. One of Shaun's friends recently commented that Shaun was his best friend. He then said, "There are many who will call him their best friend, and the truth is they are all correct". Shaun found the love of his life in Kasey. They were best friends and they were looking forward to getting married in a few months and starting their life together. Shaun and Kasey loved their dogs and loved being together and sharing in adventures through volunteering, travel and the everyday routines of life.

Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday, December 11, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church from 5:30-7:30 p.m. A funeral mass will be held Wednesday, December 12, at 11a.m. at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception with a private burial.

The family requests that memorials be made to Urban Bicycle Food Ministry where Shaun and Kasey volunteered. The family also asks that you find ways to show more kindness and love to others through loving acts, as small as a smile to a stranger or a meal to someone in need. Let more love and kindness come from Shaun's life and let that be his legacy.
