Major Christopher Robert Morse was the son of John Von Maur and Elizabeth Ann Mock Morse. He joined the US Navy in 1997 was deployed twice to the Middle East. In 2003 he transitioned to the US Navy Reserves, but was again called up to active duty in 2006 and returned for a third time to the Middle East. In 2009 Christopher changed branches of military service, becoming a major in the US Army Military Intelligence Corps. He deployed to Afghanistan as part of the Joint NATO forces. He retired form the army in 2015 and ran for US Congress in 2016. He was the republican nominee for Michigan's Ninth district seat. Survivors include his wife, mother, and two siblings.
