A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, 2000, in Rose City Funeral Home for Gerald "Jerry" W. Gleason, who died Dec. 19 at age 79.
Mr. Gleason was born Dec. 30, 1920, in Seattle. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Europe. He moved to Portland from Gold Beach in 1955 and was a maintenance millwright for Esco Corp. for 31 years until retiring in 1986. In 1942, he married Cynthia Reasoner; she died in 1984.
Survivors include his sons, Patrick and Clay; daughter, Rose Ann Reeder; sister, Marilyn Paige; brother, Roy; 17 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Interment will be in Rose City Cemetery Columbarium. The family suggests remembrances to the Oregon Copyright (c) 2000 Oregonian Publishing Co.
