Debra Ellen King, age 60, of Au Gres, Michigan died on Sunday, April 1, 2018 at Covenant Healthcare in Saginaw, Michigan.

She was born the daughter of Roydice and Carol (LeCureux) Newlon on November 19, 1957 in Tawas City, Michigan.

She graduated from Oscoda High School. Debra joined the United States Air Force and proudly served our country from 1978 – 1981. Debra is accredited for being the first woman heavy equipment operator at the Wurtsmith Air Force Base in Oscoda, Michigan.

She was a devout Christian and a faithful member of St. John Lutheran Church in Au Gres, Michigan where she loved to sing in the church choir. She liked to spend her time drawing and working on art projects, but most of all she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. Debra was a Gift of Life Donor and will be remembered for her special act of kindness.

Debra is survived by her children; Christina (Gary) Aller and Michael Mendiola all of Au Gres, Michigan. Her mother, Carole Newlon of Tawas City, Michigan and her siblings; Cindy McLeod of Oscoda, Michigan, Dan (Karen) Newlon of Kalamazoo, Michigan and James Newlon of Califonia; her grandchildren; Haylee, Chelsee and Emilee Aller and Arianna Stojsik and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life was held on April 7th, 2018 at St. John Lutheran Church in Au Gres, Michigan.
