Coshocton Co. Native Dies in Hospital
Mrs. Blanche Smailes, 78, of Main Street Trinway, died Sunday morning at 3:50 at Coshocton Memorial hospital where she was admitted on December 24.
Mrs. Smailes was born in Conesville, Coshocton county, on June 17, 1879, the daughter of James Scott and Mary Ellen Cave Marquand. Her husband, Jesse V. Smailes, died on Oct. 1, 1947. She was a member of the Trinway Methodist church, WSCS, and Dresden Pythian Sisters lodge.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. W.R. Henegar of St. Paul, Va., and Mrs. Rodger R. Brennon Trinway; one sister, Mrs. Grace Miser of Coshocton, three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The body will be taken to the residence of Mrs. Brennon in Trinway, Monday at 10 a.m. and will be returned to the Baughman and Sons funeral home in Dresden Tuesday morning where services will be held that afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. Roy Bower officiating.
Burial will be in South Lawn cemetery, Coshocton.
