Dennis K. Shipley, age 70 of Mendon, died Monday, December 3, 2018 at the Excela Westmoreland Hospital in Greensburg, Pennsylvania.
He was born February 22, 1948 in Ruffsdale, a son of the late Harrold N. and Bertha Pearl Lynn Shipley.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a brick layer up until he suffered a stroke in 1998. Dennis loved hunting with his family, especially with his brother-in-law Dave Sethman. He also enjoyed traveling and game nights with the family.
He was preceded in death by both parents; his wife of forty-six years, Evelyn Sethman Shipley; four brothers, Richard Lynn, Robert, Bill and Jerry Shipley; and three sisters, Dorothy Sanner, Jane Dunlap and Darlene Gwynn.
He is survived by two sons; Dennis K. Shipley II and Jason H. Shipley and their wives, all of Mendon; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Louis Shipley of Scottdale and Thomas Shipley of Mount Pleasant; one sister, Gloria Waywood of Wyano and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private interment will take place at the Hoffman Cemetery in Smithton, Pennsylvania.
