Doris was born March 16, 1932, in Davidson County, Tenn., and was a daughter of the late Andrew and Docia Chambliss.
She kept occupied by working on the farm and raising cattle.
Her husband, Ned, preceded her in death just a few short weeks ago.
Doris leaves behind several loving nieces and nephews, and a number of great-nieces and -nephews. She will be missed by all of her family and friends.
The family will receive friends Saturday, Aug. 19, from 2 to 3 p.m., at McDowell Independent Presbyterian Church. A service in celebration of her life will follow in the church sanctuary at 3 p.m., with Dennis Carswell presiding.
