Patricia was born June 11, 1935 at Pierson, Iowa to Carl & Helen (Trapp) Schleef. She graduated from Cherokee Wilson High School in 1953. She was married to Daryl Batz on March 12, 1955 and to this union two children were born, Mark and Marcia. She attended the Cherokee School of Practical Nursing obtaining her degree on August 2, 1968. She attended Iowa Central Community College later in life and received a degree in Office Skills and Accounting in 1988.
Patricia was very proud of her nursing degree. She had worked at the Cherokee Mental Health Institute, Cherokee Care Center, Rainbow Preschool where she loved interacting with the young children, Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital as an Office Clerk, and Lutheran Family Services in Storm Lake, Iowa.
Patricia enjoyed crocheting, knitting, needle point, drawing art, reading, teaching English to the Spanish, her bible studies, volunteer work with the elderly and had an interest in politics.
She was preceded by her parents and a son Mark Batz. She is survived by one daughter: Marcia (Don) Woerdehoff of Carroll, Iowa; three grandchildren and one great grandson: Adam Woerdehoff of Des Moines, Iowa and his son Dane; Laura Woedehoff of Des Moines, Iowa; Sara Woerdehoff of Des Moines, Iowa.
