Jonathan L Irwin, seventy two years of age, died of tuberculosis and dropsy, at his home, No 1101 East Center Street, Saturday night at 11:50 o'clock after fifteen weeks of suffering. The deceased was a well known carpenter, residing in this city thirty years.
Mr. Irwin was born April 11, 1843, at Warren, Indiana. He was a son of Mr. & Mrs. Jonathan L Irwin, and a twin brother to Samuel R Irwin, who died five years ago. Thirty nine years ago he married Nancy A Cookes, who with three sisters, Mrs. Sarah Andrews of Warren, Indiana, Mrs, Eugene Lauderbeck of Chicago, and Mrs. Mary Morrison of Colorado Junction, survive him. By a former marriage, one daughter, Mrs. Fanny Holmes, three step daughters and one step son also survive.
The deceased was a veteran of the Civil War, a member of the West Church Street Christian Church and Cooper Post NO 117 G.A.R.
