She grew up in the Ninnekah area and graduated from Ninnekah High School.
She married Clyde L. Bennett Sr. on November 22, 1944 and they were married for 73 years. They lived most of their married life in the Ninnekah area.
Joy was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church, Ninnekah. She was also a member of OHCE and a founding member of Ninnekah Senior Citizen Group.
Joy and Roy also traveled many years with Holiday Ramblers Club.
Joy is proceeded in death by her husband, Roy, her parents, 2 brothers, and 7 sisters.
She is survived by sister, Jessie Bennett;
sons, Clyde L. Bennett Jr.; James E. Bennett and his wife Peggy; and Greg L. Bennett;
daughter, Elizabeth Reed and husband John;
11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
