Funeral services for Dave Black were held Tuesday morning in the church of the Assumption in Topeka and burial was in the Scranton cemetery. Mr. Black died at Long Beach, Calif., Saturday, following a week’s illness from virus pneumonia and heart trouble. He spent most of his life in the Scranton community, before going to California a few years ago. He was 41 years of age. He is survived by his widow, three children, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. T.E. Black, on brother, one sister, and several other relatives and friends. Scranton Gazette 11 Aug 1949
