John Lawrence “Jack” Stiles, 92, of Sharpsburg passed away December 3, 2018. Jack was born on July 12, 1926 in Louisville, KY to the late Louise Ogden and Susanne Curry Stiles. He attended the University of Louisville, where he received his bachelor’s degree. He proudly served his country in the US Army Air Corp from 1944-1946, served in the US Navy in Korea from 1950-1954, and finally Air America from 1954-1973. Jack was a pilot for the Navy and had a passion for aviation and his country. He also served as a missionary in Nairobi for many years. He had a true love for God and was a longtime member of Peachtree City First Baptist Church.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents and brother. He is survived by his wife, Dottie Stiles of Sharpsburg; sons, Guy (Arisa) Stiles of Sharpsburg and Jonathan (Holly) Stiles of Ball Ground; grandsons, John, Jesse, and Joshua Stiles; granddaughter, Lauren (David) Adams; brother, Dr. Joseph (Nancy) Stiles of Louisville; sister-in-law, Sue Stiles; numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church Peachtree City, with Dr. Joey Rodgers and Guy Stiles officiating. The family will receive visitors on Saturday, December 8, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the church. Burial will take place on Monday, December 10, 2018 at 2:30 PM at Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA.
