Randy was born in Yuma, Arizona, to Burl Rayburn Garner and Eva Joyce Clay. He was the stepson to Doyle Clay.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother.
The youngest of four siblings, Randy has one sister, Kathie Ann Garner (Danny), of McAlester, and two brothers, Jerry Wayne Garner (Virginia), of Manvel, Texas, and Rickey Dale Garner (Barbara), of McAlester.
The family lived in Brawley and Moreno, California, as well as Las Vegas, Nevada, for a few years. They moved to Oklahoma when Randy was around age nine where the family lived in Arpelar, a small town outside of McAlester for a short time before moving to McAlester.
As a child, Randy attended Haywood Elementary School, Stuart Public School and Savanna High School.
He went on to become a maintenance man for an apartment complex in Houston and was a maintenance and home repairman in Dallas as well. Randy earned the Capital Asset Management Maintenance Award in 1990 for excelling in this career. He lived and worked in Dallas for many years before settling back down in McAlester, where he lived at the time of his passing.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter, Kelcie Ann Martin (Hunter), of Katy, Texas; sons, Randall Walton Garner (Julie), of Panama City, Florida, and Timothy Jay Garner (Kristin), of Vernon, Florida. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren, Curtis, Lillian, James, Mason, Marshall, Keaton, Kolton and Winter.
