On November 30, 2018, Mrs. Olivia V. Butts-Jennings died. She was born on December 26, 1927, in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, the oldest of six siblings, to the late Jethro Butts and Flossie Beatrice Owens-Butts. Her husband of 60 years, Herbert L. Jennings, also preceded her in death.
Survivors are four sons: Mr. Stanley Jennings of Fayetteville, GA, Dr. Kevin Jennings (Lydia) of Virginia Beach, VA, Dr. Marvin Jennings (Dr. Loretta Logan-Jennings) of The Bronx, NY, Mr. Gary Jennings (Youlande) of Stafford, VA; a sister, Mrs. Argie Butts-Lamb (Clarence); a brother, Mr. Otis Butts (Lillian); and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, brothers and sisters-in-law, family, friends.
Viewing will be held at J T Fisher Funeral Services, 1248 George Washington Hwy. N., Chesapeake, Va. 23323, Wednesday, December 5, 2018, 1 pm to 7 pm. Homegoing service will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Celestial Baptist Church, 1439 Mount Vernon Avenue, Portsmouth, Va. 23707. Interment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 3920 Airline Blvd. Chesapeake, Va.
