Janice M. (Porter) George, 81, of Allentown, died peacefully Monday, December 3, 2018, in her home with her family members by her side. She was the wife of Dale A. George to whom she was married 58 years. Born in Buffalo, New York, May 5, 1937, Janice was the daughter of the late Merle and Ethel (Wagner) Porter.
She was a registered nurse and worked at Abington Hospital for several years before having a family. Janice volunteered at the Tree Top Gift Shop at Lehigh Valley Hospital for 35 years. Additionally, she worked in the family business, Kleckner & Sons, with locations in Whitehall and Emmaus. Janice was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Allentown.
Survivors: In addition to her husband, Dale; sons, Todd A. George (Christine) of Schnecksville, Jeffrey S. George, Esq. (Jennifer) of Colorado Springs, CO, Daniel J. George of Breinigsville; nine grandchildren.
Service: Funeral services will be held 11:00 am. Friday, December 7, 2018 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc. 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville with the Rev. Eric S. Yeakel officiating. Family and friends may pay their respects from 9:30 – 11:00 am. Friday in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown.
