RS Couple Looks To 50th Anniver.

Mr. and Mrs. Paul F. Bowers of Roaring Spring will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, Feb. 11.
Mr. Bowers and the former Nancy Eicher were united in marriage on Feb. 11, 1956, at Trinity Methodist Church, Roaring Spring, by Rev. T. Max Hall.
The couple has two children, Charles of Virginia and Amy of Maryland, and two grandchildren, Emily and Nathan.
Mr. Bowers retired from Appleton Papers after 43 years of service. Mrs. Bowers is a retired seamstress.
Both are active members of Westminster Orthodox Presbyterian Church, Hollidaysburg, where Mr. Bowers is a deacon and recording secretary of the deacon board.

Nancy K. Bowers, 80, Roaring Spring, died Sunday morning at the home of her daughter in Pasadena, Md.
She was born in Roaring Spring, daughter of the late Elvin Eicher, and she was raised in the home of her grandparents, the late Elmer and Edith Stiffler.
On Feb. 11, 1956, she married Paul F. Bowers in Roaring Spring, and his death on May 11, 2006, ended the 50-year marriage to the love of her life.
Surviving are two children: Amy S. King of Pasadena, Md., and Charles F. Bowers of Woodbridge, Va.; two grandchildren: Emily and Nathan; and a nephew, Danny Eicher of Denver, Colo.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Eicher.
Nancy was a homemaker and a seamstress.
She loved baking, sewing and quilting, traveling across the U.S., listening to “Celtic Thunder” and watching “Gone With the Wind” and collecting memorabilia from the film.
Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, 2018, and from 11 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral service on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018, at Todd T. Thompson Funeral Home Inc., Roaring Spring, the Rev. Joel Kletzing officiating.
Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Roaring Spring.
