Lori was born Oct. 3, 1962, to Herbert McHugh and Jane (Protz) Lincoln. Lori was a graduate of Tomah High School and earned her nursing degree from Edgewood College in Madison, Wis. She married Brian Hensley, of Norman, Okla., May 31, 1986, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Tomah. She was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Warrens.
Lori worked at the Tomah VA Hospital for 32 years. She cared for veterans many years as a registered nurse. In her final years, Lori was a strong advocate for labor rights. She was the chief steward of V.A. America Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) Local 0007 Union, in her second term of office, when she passed. She was very passionate and always had time to help people. She was known for her warm heart. She will be greatly missed by her union brothers and sisters.
Lori is survived by her husband of 31 years, Brian; and their two children, Brianna and James Hensley; her mother-in-law, Ruth Hensley; an uncle and several aunts, cousins, and friends. She will also be greatly missed by the family's pets, Penelope, Beau, and Oz. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 18, at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, 4285 U.S. Hwy 12, Warrens. Pastor Phillip Enderle will officiate. Visitation will start at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Tomah, following the service. A luncheon will be held back at church after burial.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Lori's memory to Chasing Daylight Animal Shelter, 15560 State Hwy. 131, Tomah, WI 54660 or American Diabetes Assn., 2451 Crystal Drive, Suite 900, Arlington, VA 22202.
