Uvalda - Mrs. Amy Lynn Claxton, age 40, of Uvalda, died Monday, December 3, 2018, at her home. She was a lifelong resident of Uvalda, and was a graduate of Cornerstone Christian Academy. Amy previously worked with Bishop-Durden Insurance and Dixon-O’Neal Agency, and presently with Best Rate Insurance. She was a member of the Cedar Crossing Baptist Church, and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Marolyn and Franklin Parker; and a brother, Alan Kight.

Amy is survived by three children, Joe Cowart and wife Kaitlyn of Ft. Campbell, Kentucky, Landon Claxton, and Blaine Claxton, both of Vidalia; two sisters, Mandy Barnard and husband Chris of Hazlehurst, and Lauren Lockley of Lyons; former husband and best friend, Mark Claxton of Uvalda; one brother, Jason Claxton of Higgston; and a sister-in-law, Kelly Kight of Uvalda.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, December 6th at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Reece Mincey and Ken Garrett officiating. Burial will follow in the Uvalda City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
