Rua C. Conant was born January 4, 1889 in Nebraska, the daughter of John and Margaret I. (Keith) Conant. Rua grew to womanhood in Table Rock and graduated from Table Rock High School in 1907. Her father died here in 1909. The family moved west to Saco, and Glasgow, Montana, and after 1922 to Los Angeles, California. While in Glasgow she was in many social circles, including the Valley Chapter of the Eastern Star in which she held various offices.
Rua was married to Arthur Martin Longwell sometime after December of 1922. The 1930 CA Census has they were both age 35 on their first marriages, Arthur was a barber and owned his shop. They lived the rest of their lives in California where Arthur was a barber. In the 1940 California Census Rua was living with her brother, Edwin who was listed as single, Rua as widow. Rua was working as a salesgirl at a department store.
