Dominick DeVarti may best be known in his home town of Ann Arbor, Michigan as the founder of the well-loved, Dominick's Restaurant. Mr. Devarti was a 1951 graduate of the University of Michigan, College of Engineering and ran for Mayor of the City of Ann Arbor (Rep) in 1957 (he was defeated in the primary by William E. Brown Jr). The inscription on his grave reads that he served as a Bombadier/Navigator in the Army Aircorps during World War II. He is buried next to his wife, Alice.
