Danny M. Taylor, 71, of Waverly passed away early Tuesday morning, December 4, 2018 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. He was born January 17, 1947 in Santa Ana, CA the son of Edward and Theresa Southworth Taylor. He married Anna Jensen on July 20, 1968 in Long Beach, CA and she preceded him in death on April 8, 2015.
He is survived by two daughters, Michele (Gary) Wallis of Waverly and Melissa (Jarrod) Humphreys of Paducah, KY; three grandsons, Jakob Wood, Billy Jack Humphreys and Alexander Humphreys; three brothers, Edward Taylor, Jr., John Taylor and Dennis Taylor; four sisters, Diana Taylor Gotchy, Christina O'Neill, Sharon Woodworth and Shirley Farrar and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Danny served in the United States Army. He had been employed at Dillon Dairy in Colorado for many years. He was a loving man who cherished his family. He loved to share pictures of his grandbabies with his friends at WalMart and Casey's and Dollar General in Waverly. He was a good man with a big heart that loved to help anyone in need, often offering rides to the friends he had made in Waverly. He loved to laugh and to make people laugh. He had a great sense of humor and was known for his practical jokes throughout his childhood into adulthood. He will be missed and kept in our hearts always.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, December 7, 2018 at Neece-Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Waverly. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association. Condolences may be left online at www.airsman-hires.com
