Audrey L. Stafford, 76, of Sedalia, formerly of Slater, died Sunday, December 2, 2018 at the Big Bend Retreat in Slater.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 5, 2018, at 11:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church in Slater, with Danny Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Slater City Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. at the church. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association or the Slater Animal Shelter in care of Weiker Funeral Home in Slater.
Born November 25, 1942 in Saline County, she was the daughter of the late Forrest C. and Alice Jacoby Shepard. On April 19, 1973 in Slater, she married Eric Stafford, and he preceded her in death on December 3, 2014.
She is survived by a sister, Myra Jones and her husband Sam of rural Slater; a brother-in-law, George Stafford of Slater; a niece, Ginger Brucks; and a nephew, Danny Jones.
Mrs. Stafford was a member of the First Baptist Church of Slater. She was a 1960 graduate of Slater High School, and a graduate of Missouri Valley College in Marshall. She taught Physical Education and coached at Odessa and Brentwood Public Schools. She had lived in Sedalia since 1994, moving from Slater.
