He worked as a self-employed contractor for over 40 years. He was a member of Crossroads United Methodist Church. He enjoyed gardening, the St. Louis Cardinals, Indiana University basketball, fishing in Canada and spending time with his family and friends.
Marvin is survived by his children, Jay, Connie and Candi; mother-in-law, Sarah; siblings, Ben, Nora, Bettye and Kathy; nine grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Whitaker; mother, Cora Mae Whitaker; father, James Harvey Whitaker; grandson, Benjamin Weston; brothers, Jack, Bob and James Whitaker; and his father-in-law, Joseph Paschal.
